1. Scope of this policy

This policy explains the technologies used on Home & Garden pages. Cookies are small files stored in your browser by a service. Other mechanisms, such as local storage, can serve similar purposes.

2. Necessary storage and technical services

We use the localStorage key hg-cookie-preferences-v1 to remember your Google Maps choice, the date of that choice and the notice version for 180 days. It is used only to remember preferences, including refusal, and not for tracking. We ask for a new choice when it expires. If your browser blocks storage, the choice applies only to the current page.

We do not include our own audience analytics or advertising tools. Sites/OpenAI and Cloudflare hosting may use technical authentication, delivery and security technologies managed by those providers. See the OpenAI policy and Cloudflare policy.

3. Google Maps — optional

The map is blocked before consent. Accepting the Google Maps category allows the map to load and technical data, including your IP address and browser information, to be sent to Google. Google may use cookies for operation, security and preferences; their behaviour, names and lifetimes depend on the service, browser and Google account. 4. Accepting, refusing and withdrawing consent

Optional features are disabled initially. Accept optional cookies and Reject optional cookies are both available from the start. Under Customise preferences, you can choose whether to allow the map and save that choice. Browsing or scrolling does not constitute consent.

Reopen the panel at any time through Cookie preferences in the footer. To withdraw consent, reject optional cookies or uncheck Google Maps and save. The map is removed from the page; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of previous processing or delete cookies already set by Google. Those can be removed or blocked in your browser. External links open services with their own policies.
